21ST ANNUAL SAN MANUEL GOLF TOURNAMENT
RAISES MORE THAN $275,000 FOR NATIONAL CHARITIES

HIGHLAND, Calif. (July 18, 2019) – San Manuel Casino, in partnership with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, hosted its 21st Annual San Manuel Golf Tournament on July 16 and July 17, 2019, raising more than $275,000 for five impactful Native American non-profit organizations from across the country. Over 600 golfers teed off in support of the annual charity event held on two ocean-view golf courses at Pelican Hill Resort Club in Newport Beach and produced by Orange County Golf Events & ChariTee Consulting.

This year, San Manuel’s Charitable Giving Program selected five deserving non-profit organizations focused on education, health, economic and community development, or special projects to honor with the proceeds from this annual event. The 2019 tournament charity recipients included: California Consortium for Urban Indian Health (CCUIH), California Indian Legal Services (CILS), Chief Seattle Club from Seattle, Washington, Haskell Foundation in Lawrence, Kansas and Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation (TVCDC) based on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Each organization will receive approximately $55,000 in unrestricted funds that will provide financial support through college scholarships, health services and cultural development for tribal communities.

“Even in our 21st year, I am continually amazed by the generosity of our sponsors and partners to continue San Manuel’s mission of assisting philanthropic organizations in the broader community,” said Lynn Valbuena, Chairwoman of San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. “These five organizations are dedicated to improving the lives of so many Native American communities across the nation and we are so proud to be in a position where we can help. The tournament is just one of the many ways San Manuel embodies a culture of giving back.”

Over the last 20+ years, the annual San Manuel Golf Tournament has donated more than $1.6 million in charitable funds to 36 non-profit organizations.

O.C. Golf Events President and Owner Joe Sperazza, Jr says, “We produce over 50 large golf events per year, none bigger or more exciting than San Manuel’s annual tournament. YAAMAVA’ RESORT & CASINO ANNOUNCES DAVID KOPASZ
AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF HOSPITALITY

Highland, Calif. (April 22, 2019) –– Yaamava’ Resort & Casino announced today that David Kopasz has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. In this role, Kopasz will oversee all aspects of hospitality at the Casino.

Having developed and overseen the execution of the Casino’s casual and fine dining strategy - powered by a third of the Casino’s workforce - he has tripled the growth of restaurant, bar and lounge seating and has substantially increased revenue for the Food and Beverage department. As Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality, Kopasz will be responsible for overseeing the hospitality division and implementing growth strategies aimed to take the Casino to new heights.

SAN MANUEL CASINO ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

After Much Success Growing Hospitality Division, Kenji Hall to Oversee Casino Operations

Highland, CA (April 10, 2019) – San Manuel Casino announced that Kenji Hall has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. The announcement follows the promotion of Peter Arceo to General Manager of San Manuel Casino, and Loren Gill to CEO of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. In his new role, Hall will oversee the administration and execution of activities for San Manuel Casino, ensure maximized and sustainable revenues for the Tribe, lead a culture of world-class customer service and oversee the Casino’s expansion project.

“For the past two years, Kenji has played an integral role in laying the foundation for the Casino’s hospitality business and an important advisory role in the opening of Bear Springs Hotel – bringing a true boutique hotel experience to the region,” said Peter Arceo, General Manager of San Manuel Casino.” “Kenji was the obvious choice for taking the reins of Casino operations and propelling us new heights.”

Hall joined San Manuel as Chief Operating Officer of the Casino’s hospitality division in August 2017 and has since led the team to substantial growth. After overseeing a successful opening for Bear Springs Hotel, Hall will use that experience to help San Manuel Casino execute its vision in the new expansion project. Hall has over 30 years of executive and management experience in gaming and hospitality, having served as Assistant General Manager for Primm Valley Resorts and their three properties – Primm Valley Resort, Buffalo Bill’s and Whiskey Pete’s, and for other well-known organizations including MGM Resorts and Hilton.

PETER ARCEO NAMED GENERAL MANAGER, SAN MANUEL CASINO
 

Highland, Calif. (March 29, 2019) – San Manuel Casino announced today that Peter Arceo will officially fill the role of General Manager. This follows the most recent announcement that the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians named Loren Gill, former General Manager of the Casino, as Chief Executive Officer for San Manuel Tribal Government Operations and San Manuel Casino.

As the Casino's new General Manager, Arceo will be responsible for directing all activity – enhancing the overall experience for team members and guests of San Manuel Casino, one of Southern California's top entertainment destinations.

"From the moment Peter joined our team, he has led by example and helped lead the Casino to unprecedented growth," said Loren Gill, Chief Executive Officer of San Manuel. "On behalf of the Tribe, I am thrilled to officially appoint Peter as General Manager and look forward to continue working with Peter along with his leadership team to elevate San Manuel to even greater heights."

Arceo joined San Manuel Casino as Chief Marketing Officer in August 2015 and was elevated to Chief Operating Officer in August 2018. During his tenure, Peter helped establish the vision and foundation of the Casino's expansion project, launched its player development program, and made providing a best-in-class experience for Casino guests and employees a top priority. As Chief Marketing Officer, Arceo established a database marketing department and propelled the 'All Thrill' advertising campaign to success.
