Executive Chef Matthew Smith

A “Chef of the Year” recipient for Hyatt Hotels and Best-in-Show culinary award winner, Smith brings more than 27 years of experience managing luxury hospitality properties and opening multiple restaurants with various concepts. Best-in-class chefs like Smith take San Manuel’s culinary experiences to new heights.
Prior to joining San Manuel, the Northern California native was the Opening Executive Chef for Westin Anaheim Resort. Before that he spent 15 years in Hawaii, serving as the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa as well as the Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa.
Smith graduated with top honors from the California Culinary Academy in 1988.
